Tips on reducing Procrastination

  "I want to change but I'm too busy". "I need to get the space to do what I want". These are two of the common excuses we all hear. I recently met a man who is so busy he has no time to do anything that might get him ahead in life. We went through his week and it really was full: Committees, attending public meetings, helping neighbours and so on. Talking more, it turned out he is unemployed and so scared about not being able to provide for his daughter that any time he thinks of doing a course or applying for work, he gets such a sense of panic that he runs back into being so busy in order to stop facing those fears. A bit about self-sabotage

  Why do I keep doing this? What's wrong with me? These are two of the common questions I hear. Let me explain a couple of things that your brain is doing when it comes to self sabotage. You might sit there and say 'I'm happy'', or 'what have I got to worry about', or maybe 'I just need to be grateful for what I have'. All nice clear conscious thoughts. But if you are unhappy at a deep level, your mind will subconsciously be reacting to that unhappiness and will create defences from the feelings of hurt/despair/anxiety etc. Your mind doesn't need your conscious permission or awareness to be self-sabotaging your relationships, your health or your life.
